Janet's Garden is named in loving memory of my late maternal grandmother, Janet, who was a kind, compassionate, and gentle soul. She emigrated from the UK to Canada after a coin toss with her best friend, embarking on a new chapter that would shape our family's history. Though she passed away when I was just 7 years old, her influence on me has been immeasurable, and her lessons have stayed with me throughout my life.
She taught me the timeless golden rule: "Treat others the way you want to be treated." Janet's love for carnations, hockey, and peanut butter and banana sandwiches are fond memories I cherish. I can still hear her soft voice in my mind, as if she were here today.
Janet passed away in her 64th year from a rare form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma. Naming my entrepreneurial debut Janet's Garden is my way of honoring her legacy, giving her name new life, and ensuring that the kindness and wisdom she shared continue to inspire me and others.
